16th Sep 1986 Visit to Carlow Museum looking for references to burials at Sleaty. Amongst many others I found the following
53 Sleaty.
"Here lieth the body of Gerald Byrne of Sleaty who departed this life Nov the 7th 178# aged #3 years.

This stone is erected by his wife Mary Byrne alias Kavanagh for him and his posterity.
Also his son Mr. Charles Byrne who departedthis life March 25 1830 in the 40 year of his age
and also his wife Mrs Julia Byrne who departed this life November 14 1860 in the 84 years of her life
